Ballantines is the number-one blended Scotch whisky in Europe. With a recipe that has stayed true to its original since 1910, the brand’s extensive range of blended Scotch is produced from a complex blend of single malts and grain whiskies from Scotland’s most renowned whisky regions: Speyside, the Highlands, Islay, and the Lowlands. Part of the Pernod Ricard group since 2005, Ballantines persistent heritage dates back to 1827 when George Ballantine established his grocery store in Edinburgh where he sold a range of whiskies and spirits. George opened a new store in Glasgow in 1865, while he appointed his son Archibald to run the Edinburgh operations. Subsequently, George Ballantine started creating his blends. Ballantine’s continued to prosper and by 1986, it had become Europe’s largest blended whisky label.
